My employer must follow the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992, their responsibilities are to provide the mandatory training and supervisions, ensure policies and procedures are put in place, plan, organise, control, monitor and review health and safety arrangements, make sure the equipment is available and to maintain risk assessments and to deal with chemicals and other substances safely. As an employee I also have to follow COSHH 2002 (control of substances hazardous to health) in my workplace. This means I have to follow the procedures set in place by my employer and attend training. I have to make sure any hazardous substances are kept locked away where unauthorized people cannot get them. I also need to dispose of hazardous substances correctly and not mix substances in case of any hazardous fumes or explosions that may occur.
Unit 40 P2, P3, P4, Unit 28- P3, P4 roles and responsibilities As a care worker I would have many roles and responsibilities within a care home. I would assist the residents in personal care, this can include washing, dressing, toilet need and eating. I would also respond to any calls made from the residents to me in an efficient manner. Any incidents or unexplained injuries that may happen I would report to the nurse or manager in charge. I would ensure that the residents would be presentable in their appearance at all times.

It is my responsibility to check the policy and procedure at my place of work about disclosure of confidential information, in order to be clear about how to act and who to contact should the need arise. With your responsibilities as an employee relating to infection inside of your work setting you have to think of two key things, Prevention and Control. Prevention means that things like personal protective equipment and washing your hands need to be used to prevent people getting infected with anything in the first place. Aiii: The principles to be followed for safe moving and handling are that there needs to be risk assessments and procedures done to minimise the risk of injury to the employee. This may include recommended amount of people required to move an object, specific equipment needed and training to safe about handling equipment safety. Aiv: It is important to follow the care plan and communicate with each individual when assisting and moving as moving them incorrectly may cause them to be injured or discomfort. In this scenario it is important that you use their preferred method of communication. This can be sign language, makaton, or any other type of method that will ensure both you and the service user know what is being said. If you do not have the right equipment in the setting to help communication be effective, the service user may feel discriminated against as you are not providing for their needs. In health and social care settings, it is important that you provide equipment for everyone so that no one feels discriminated against. Language barriers can cause people to feel discriminated against, meaning that they make feel unhappy and uncomfortable in the setting.
We must monitor the clients behaviour and ensure we check their mobility hasnt deteriorated . If this happens they may need futher assessments so that equipment becomes available.
