IV. Dramatic Structure of play.

Stasis: The stasis takes place before Pop comes in to the picture. Johnny and Celia are trying to work out the kinks and complications of their marriage. Meanwhile, Polo is sacrificing and working hard to keep Johnny’s addiction covered and under control.

Inciting Incident: The inciting incident is when Mother and his gang comes to collect and threaten Johnny and his family for the money he owes. After barrowing from Mother a number of times Johnny has failed to pay him back. At this moment Polo and Johnny must scrape around to find ways to protect this secret and their lives.

Crisis: The Crisis is Johnny’s confession to Pop and Celia about his disabling drug addiction.
