Not having personal responsibility can have negative effects on the outcome of your project and can cause resentment or even hostility from the other group members. A person who has good personal responsibility will be on time, will work hard, participate equally in activities, and show initiative. If you are not participating or putting in equal effort to accomplishing the task, then the rest of the group members will have to
1.2 Analyse potential barriers to professional development. Personal- It includes attitude and character. A negative attitude is a major factor in this area. If you start out with the belief that positive development is unlikely to occur, then no matter how hard you work on it, your belief will sabotage any effort you may make. Emotional maturity- For example I am dealing with different people in my Unit from staff, residents and relatives I should be aware and cautious to the emotional situation of each person.
It is important that everyone looks out for changes in a person's or a group's behaviour. However, in many cases the changes may only be noticeable to the person subject to the stress and so it is also important to look at how you are feeling and try to identify any potential issues you may have as early as possible and take positive action to address them; this may be raising the matter with a Team Leader, talking to occupational health or your own GP. Stress can show itself in many different ways - see below. Some of the items in this list may not be signs of stress if people always behave this way. You are particularly looking for changes in the way people behave that could be linked with excessive pressures.
It is important for me to respect people and their opinions, always listen to people and make them feel valued and lastly always act professional. What are the traits of an effective leader? Do I have these traits? How would I develop these traits? To be an effective leader requires traits that are either inherent to a person or can be learnt.
They may find receiving constructive feedback embarrassing and decide not to respond to it. 2.2 It is very important that you seek feedback to find out if you are doing things right, is there any room for improvement, what else could you be doing. Feedback is a powerful tool as it helps you to perceive how other people view your performance. Without feedback we wouldn’t know if we were doing the best we could be. Feedback
unit 21 1.1 The impact that theories and models could have on group work practise is certain models could make the group stronger and more formed, by bringing out strengths and abilities of group members. Also giving other group members the opportunity to gain knowledge in certain areas where they were unsure. The possible negative outcome is that it could cause conflict and tension within the group, leading to the inability to complete group tasks. 1.2 To form and maintain a cohesive and effective group the best way is to ensure that there is no conflict within the group causing any problems or tension. Ensure that there is a team leader that is willing and able to lead the group to success and is willing to accept the help from other team members should they need any, the team leader should listen to the group and take their thoughts an opinions on board as with this the team will be more successful and have better outcomes.
Employees who work for a bad boss can be anxious, and unable to concentrate on the task at hand. They dread any type of contact with their boss, and focus more on avoiding the boss than they do on product quality, and meeting deadlines. A hostile, or stressful environment, leaves employees tense and moody, this in turn negatively affects production. The difference between a good boss and a bad boss is the environment they create for their employees, which affects work quality and production. A good boss keeps an open line of communication with his employees.
A good role model to me is someone that inspires me and I aspire to be like. A good role model needs to have a positive, approachable demeanour. I believe a role model provides inspiration and motivation to seek out accomplishments. Role models send messages about their beliefs by what they do and say. To ensure that I acted as a role model to my employees, I would always act with integrity.
Career Exploration Career Assessment 1. What’s my attitude toward achievement? Achievement is all about completing goals that each one set for yourself. I always have to stay positive and learn as much as possible from the very successful people. We should always try to be the best at work, at school, and personally.
2. What challenges would there be in creating an effective cross-functional team? How would managers deal with these challenges? * Because the trainees are diverse; some are strangers, some are colleagues, and some are friends, it’s a challenge for the managers to breach this boundary. This can cause ineffective communication amongst all trainees.
