I always felt the need to care for someone since I know that I have the power and the choice to do so. My philosophy of nursing comes directly from my desire to help people. I wanted to be a nurse because I enjoy being around people in their times of need and I get internal satisfaction by serving those that need help. I remember when I was a child and my mom took me sometimes to her work. I loved going with her and see what she was doing like taking care of other people and help them get well.
To treat them with honesty, dignity, and respect is my core focus. My vision for myself as a nurse is that I will create a map in my mind and set high standardized goals which will lead me toward the advancement of my career. I will continue to educate myself with the latest technology and research which will help me in my professional career. I want to succeed in my leadership role which will make a difference in nursing as I can give rise to other successful nurses. I will use all my strength and skills to complete all the challenges I face to provide the best outcome for my patient and the organization.
To me, nursing is not just a job; it is a life changing adventure, filled with new challenges every day. I greatly enjoy being a nurse and have an immeasurable passion for touching the lives of others. I want to be an RN because it will open more doors for me and further my opportunities. While I have had great pride in being an LVN, we are limited in our patient care and decision making. There are many qualities that a nurse must possess in order to be successful; respect, patience, good communication and critical thinking skills are only a few.
I have always wanted to be in the nursing field because of the stability and I have a care nature for every just about every living thing. Years ago I have taken the steps in accomplishing in becoming a certified CNA and Phlebotomist where I have always been inspired by my mom who is a retired nurse now and also was a dialysis patient but my mom still had the drive to continue to work as a RN because this is what she loved to do. My mom was eventually through the years of her working as a nurse, she was blessed with a kidney from finally putting her name on the donor’s list in order to complete her compassion as a RN. My mom is doing very well, from time to time my mom does registry. I am currently working as a certified Dialysis tech at Davita Dialysis working in an outpatient setting where I enjoy my work I do

YIT1 PROFESSIONAL ROLES AND VALUES CORINNE BRONKEMA WESTERN GOVERNOR’S UNIVERSITY PROFESSIONAL ROLES & VALUES PROJECT My personal nursing mission statement is changing and developing as my career advances, however, one core piece will remain constant. I will strive to provide the best, safest, most ethical and compassionate nursing care that I can for all patients and family members with whom I come in contact. I began my post-high school academic career as an accounting major. I enjoyed the challenge of manipulating a report until I had balanced. I thought I had found my calling.
My desire to do this course is because; I have always shown a growing interest into Health & Social Care and Nursing, as it strikes me as a worthwhile and satisfying career to choose. I am a confident student willing to provide the university with good communication skills, supporting others, and being able to interact closely with them. I feel that health & social care would be rewarding and create different pathways for my future. My career plans are centred in the future of the NHS and in the Care Home or Nursing Home. I would like to go into a working friendly others with their needs and seeing them to better health.
Community health is not just based on a certain age group or certain situations, so I feel as if my community health clinical rotation will allow me to pull all of my clinical experiences into one and apply all of those skills. This clinical rotation will definitely put my knowledge to test and I am 100% ready to test everything I have been taught. After reading about this organization, I could not be more excited to do my community health clinical rotation there. I even noticed that they offer volunteer and career opportunities, so working at a Comtrea location could always be a possibility for me. I have always enjoyed the community health aspect of nursing because the fact that you are helping your own community is very rewarding.
I will take gravely the importance of the nursing profession, as an oversight on behalf of a nurse can have severe consequences to the patient. I take this very seriously, and I would hold myself as a practicing nurse to high esteem for doing such an important and meaningful job, and doing it well. My next goal after completion of the entire program, once I attain my BSN, is to secure a job in the field of my choice. In speaking with a recent graduate of UC’s Accelerated Pathway program, a friend, she articulated that while she was sure she wanted a career in pediatrics, through some of her hands-on experience in the program she learned that she in fact did not want to work with kids; now she loves her job at University Hospital on the transplant service. I am aware that what I know about nursing will develop, deepen, and broaden, and I look forward to finding out where my passion lies in the field of nursing.
And to understand different cultures, beliefs, ethics, and attitudes, to endow others with respect, as well with, a loving heart and an open mind. Nursing is the perfect profession for me because it includes all of my strong points and it offers challenges that I would enjoy seeking and accomplishing. Nursing is a career choice that I am passionate about because I am able to touch the lives of those who are suffering and embrace them with compassion. Also, nursing is well respected profession, and for me it is my way of a successful future. It is a career path into establishing a stable financial brace for my descendants.
