They believed that, “We have a purpose, a certain audience, a particular stance, a genre, and a medium to consider- and often as not a design” (Bullock, Goggin 1). It is important to know what exactly your purpose is; all writing must have at least one. It helps you to understand how to proceed with your work. Your audience is who is listening or reading what you are
Carr’s “Is Google Making Us Stoopid?” and Naughton’s “The Internet: Is it Changing the Way We Think?” showed the impact technology has had on us related to reading and critical thinking. It made me more aware of both the benefits of how accessible written word is in modern times, but also how we analyze what we are reading with much less depth than we have historically. Having online and in class discussions on the various topics brought up by the essays we read gave a good perspective into how conflicted people are with the upsides and downsides of the changes in language and how we approach
The main goal of rhetorical analysis is mainly based around how the author writes and how they make their points, instead of keeping the focus on specifically the topic of the writing. There are many different factors that tie into

The theme is the idea the author wishes to convey about that subject. It is expressed as a sentence or general statement about life or human nature. A literary work can have more than one theme. And most themes are not directly stated but are implied. It pretty much can be anything as long as it expresses a thought, idea, or a message. My textual artifact is composed up in a poem/letter or a poetic letter form, you can say, and expresses a message that I feel is important. Its audience can be any one person, but I intended it to have a specific audience.
INTRODUCTION A majority of both contemporary and period artists are influenced by their own existence, often including overwhelming or torturous experiences, secrets or opinions displayed within their works. These artists make use of visual language such as symbols and metaphors to portray significant concepts or hidden aspects of their identity. Art is after all a way of expressing one’s own thoughts and emotions, not at first directed for audience entertainment.
