Moreover, the chat on the cellphone is what distracts people. If texting while driving is eventually banned in the United States, could it be enforced? Some argue that police cannot enforce drivers who text. Although, this method is direct there is another strategy that enforces drivers who text. I agree with this quote completely. The problem isn’t with texting in general. The problem is when people decide to check a message or send a message while driving. In June of 2017 only 14 states have a ban on handheld phone use and 42 states banned texting while driving and two other states have only banned texting and driving for new drivers. The united states should have all states ban texting and driving and also handheld phone use while driving. Although many distracted driving accidents happen with young drivers we should still ban using and texting on your phone while driving for all drivers not just teenagers. Our lawmakers should also enforce stricter punishments if caught using your phone while you are driving. Such as expensive fines, a license suspension, your car insurance rate increases, and possible prison time.
One solution about the problem may be to speak up about the problem. Gun casualties and incidents throughout the country have woken the public up from its ignorance and shown them the danger guns can pose to society (Martinez, 2013). While some people want a complete blanket ban on the ownership of guns, others wants an easier access to guns so that every person may look after their own security. Part of what makes the term gun control a very controversial topic is that it’s used in a ambiguous way that does not explain the details of the issue and the demands, apart from literally controlling guns.
