Project 1 The scenario will be a customer coming into a hairdressing salon to have her hair permed. ◦ Identify and clarify customer needs and expectations The customer requires a perm; she expects a curly perm that will last. ◦ Assess the urgency of the request The customer would like the perm as soon as possible, as her hair is getting quite long and the next cut will cut the existing perm out. ◦ Determine priorities for service delivery As it just so happens we have had a cancellation and the customer can have an appointment in 15 minutes ◦ Inform customers about available choices The customer is informed that there is a cancellation and that the perm and can done today or an appointment can be made for her this time tomorrow. The customer decides to have her hair permed now.
During her childhood, Vera attended the American School of Ballet and went on later to attend Sarah Lawrence College. Vera was also an avid figure skater that competed in National Championships for figure skating, until she graduated. She also was in Sorbonne, Paris briefly, but returned to the United States to earn her degree in Art History. Soon after her graduation Vera began working for Vogue magazine as a Fashion editor and within the year she was promoted to the Senior Fashion Editor and she remained there for 16 years. After being the senior fashion editor at Vogue for over 15 years she began working with Ralph Lauren.
Betsey Johnson through hard work and many ups and downs has carved herself a permanent name in fashion. Betsey Johnson was born in Wethersfield Connecticut on August 10, 1942. As a young child Betsey was a dancer who was very inspired by the costumes they wore. She started her college studies at Pratt University but graduated from Syracuse University. After college in 1964 she won a chance to be a guest editor for Mademoiselle Magazine.
While they were there, one of Myrlie’s friends noticed Bethany and mentioned that she thought she was Elizabeth. This sparked Bethany’s interest enough that she wanted to know more about who Elizabeth is. When she and Myrlie came back to the house, Bethany retreated upstairs to change into her clothes. When she came back downstairs, she overheard Myrlie on the phone asking permission from Walter to allow her to tell Bethany who Elizabeth was. Two definite things learned from class and attending a Career Fair would be presentation of self-mannerism and enthusiasms in meeting people and enquiry. In the quest for job openings I have visited the Department of Social Services on Little Creek Road for Eligibility Support Staff as well as Norfolk Police Department 3rd precinct on Ashbury road for Operations Officer. Throughout this process I had to speak to several different people and
Debbie also has trouble in her personal life, like finding time for friends and a new Afghan husband. Towards the end, when her classes are graduating and the girls are getting jobs, Debbie realizes the troubles she went through to get them to this point were really worth it. In Kabul Beauty School, by Deborah Rodriguez, Debbie thought up the plans for a beauty school, went through hell and back to accomplish the goal, and then realized the great things she contributed to the girls and the community. Between the fears Debbie has about starting a new school in a foreign country and the excitement she has about donations, there is a lot going on in the beginning of the book. She gets a hold of some very famous, in her case very important, people like John Paul DeJoria who happens to be the owner of Paul Mitchell.

Later, that week I found myself speaking to a very enthusiastic woman with a plethora of insight on what to look for in a grant that the Wellness Center may actually use. She told me of a variety of incentives and charities that the Wellness Center offers our students that could always use some extra money. She gave me a list of events they host and showed me how they target first year students on drug and alcohol education simulations and what new ideas they had in mind. Mrs. Parker wanted us as a group to try and find a grant that would help fund a new advocacy program
Students will be given fashion books to look through. 2. Students will design 2 outfits in color that they might have seen during the 1950’s based on what they learned about fifties style.
