The first two steps serve to identify what I want to train and develop in the senior managers. The next step will be to divide the training into components that are easy to handle. 4. The training program should be aligned with organizational objectives so it is meaningful to the senior managers. Growing up has helped me understand that not everyone is like I am. Every person in this world has their own set of beliefs and ideals. I have never had a problem when it comes to meeting strangers; I mean at a certain point your best friend was a stranger once. I believe that meeting and interacting with new people is very important for our development in life. Culture does not make a difference for me when it comes to meeting people.
A leader can achieve organizational goals by interpersonal skills to persuade, influence, and guide others. An effective leader will clarify goals, offer direction, and encourage a higher performance that has a superior product. "A leader is anyone who uses interpersonal skills to influence others to accomplish a specific goal" (Sullivan & Decker, 2009, p. 45). The certainty that successful leaders are made and not born is a behavior-based theory of leadership style. The behaviors of successful leaders are learned through a lifetime of experiences, education, and training.

Servant leadership is all about creating teamwork, community, and allowing for others to be involved in decision making, strong ethics, and caring behavior. These are important factors as well as encouraging personal growth among the staff (Spears, 2005). The leader and the servant are usually thought of as opposites however, the servant leader model has shown how the two opposites are intertwined to create a model that teaches about how to put others first and promote the sharing of decision making (Spears, 2005). This model focuses on the positive impact on the employees as well as the community, rather than worrying so much about profit (Spears, 2005). “Transformational leaders are able to increase follower self-efficacy, giving the group a ‘can do’ spirit. Followers are more likely to pursue ambitious goals, agree on the strategic goals of the organization, and believe the goals they are pursuing are personally important” (Robbins & Judge, 2013, p. 384). By evaluating and comparing my characteristics with my admired leader, Janet Mock, “People working for charismatic leaders are motivated to exert extra effort and, because they like and respect their leader, express greater satisfaction” (Robbins & Judge, 2013, p. 381). The JROTC program teaches leadership through values, traits, and by showing how a structured chain of command functions. Through my experiences in various leadership positions, I have learned how to take responsibility for my actions, lead a group of people to complete a task on time in an orderly fashion, and also how to make-decisions promptly, but smartly.
