References Page 6 Executive Summary Outlined in the following report is an identified problematic situation in which I faced in the work place at my previous employer, Visa Europe. The report contains a thorough description of the problem and the main issues in which I was faced with. The report then continues to analyse the problem using Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs theory. In doing so, the analysis outlines the problems I faced and how they directly affected levels of motivation. Following the description and analysis, I have then suggested possible solutions to these problems, both applicable to my personal situation and also more generally for others facing these issues in the future.

The Hersey Blanchard Situational Leadership Theory was created by Dr Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard in their book “Management of Organizational Behaviour” (Hersey, Blanchard & Johnson 2007). They suggested that the most effective leaders change and adapt their styles to not only the situation but also to the maturity of the person or group they’re leading and the details of the task. Using this theory, in order to complete a task or job successfully, leaders place more or less emphasis on the task depending on the maturity of the person or group they’re leading. Hersey and Blanchard identified four maturity levels and aligned this with four leadership styles that would be appropriate to the person or group’s maturity level. You can see each of these maturity levels aligned to leadership styles in figure 1 of the appendix.
The site occupied previous to 2012 was, as stated above, a farm. When I was approached to work with them by Carl Woodcock MD and general manager, it was primarily to review and overhaul their current procedures and documentation with regards health & safety provision. This was mainly necessitated, unfortunately and tragically, due to a fatality on site early in 2012. It soon became clear that there was a clear lack of provision with regards health, safety and welfare. The current health and safety policy, at that time, was of a generic nature provided by an external company (See evidence 019).
Case Stud 8.4 – Old Smoke Writer: Sarah Morton Instructor: Professor Frederick J. Keil Course: Business Ethics – BUS 309 Date: November 30, 2011 * Explain how you would handle the situation if you were Charles Renfold. If I were handling the situation as Charles Renfold, I would first ask Darlene why she has never brought her smoking concerns to my attention before. And that maybe because she feels under the weather today, the smoke smell has heightened. I would express to her that Alice and Frank try to be considerate of her feelings by not smoking while she is in the room and that they also raise the windows to air out the room. I would also clarify to Darlene “that their state laws require companies to provide a smoke-free work area for employees who desire it; it doesn’t force companies to ban smoking all together” (Case Study 8.4: Old Smoke).

The forms of business communication that my team selected to use was the inter office memo and the short report. And in this report I will evaluate the effectiveness of my group’s business communications. I think that the communiqués that we utilized as a team did convey the intended message. In general my team’s assessment of the situation being presented was that Riordan Manufacturing did not show any potential profits in the near future to persist with the purchase of JJJ. Every one of my team members articulated this belief through the different communication methods utilized.
Another fact can be the oral agreement that was discussed in the meeting the two parties had along with the e-mail that was sent from a BTT manager stating the agreement in the e-mail. A factor that could work against Chou is that the e-mail that was sent was not written into a contract yet and both parties have not signed it. I believe that just because there was an e-mail sent this just shows that the two parties were in talks of drafting a contract but did not get that far because of the management change within BTT. In my opinion I believe there should have been a contract signed which would help the case of Chou if he would take legal action. The statute of frauds is the law overseeing which agreements must be in writing in order to be enforceable.
Words 2504 Date 24th February 2011 Signature In this essay I intend to explore the core conditions of Person Cantered Counselling and I will attempt to give my view on how those core conditions can help to promote therapeutic change in clients. I will look at the conditions of, Empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard as individual topics as well as a joint concept and I will attempt to explain the necessity of all three core conditions and how they can assist a client to implement self change. I am at the beginning of becoming a counsellor and as such I have not yet taken a placement which means my experience is restricted to working with my own student peer group, course tutors and various books that I have read. Rogers (1957) outlined six conditions that he believed would enable clients to achieve therapeutic change, he stated: “For constructive personality change to occur, it is necessary that these conditions exist and continue over a period of time: 1. Two persons are in psychological contact.
