Running Head: E-BUSINESS E-Business Task 1 WGU Abstract The purpose of this abstract is to evaluate the business model of a personal trainer employed by Bally’s in order to best determine an overall strategy to expand the business online. As a business manager, I will evaluate the businesses, current market demand, functionality, competition, strengths, weaknesses, and potential business opportunities. This analysis will allow me to establish an expansion plan via multiple digital marketing strategies as well as what social media tools to leverage to successfully expand online with a sustainable marketing presence. In today’s day and age, there has been a significant effort to promote fitness and nutrition and educate society on the dangers of obesity, an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. According to the IHRSA (International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association) the number of health club members has increased by 17.2 million in an 8 year period from 2005 to 2013. As a result, personal trainers have seen an increase in the number of individuals with demanding schedules looking to fit fitness into their busy lifestyle. The consistent increase in market demand and the vast changes in the consumption of information in the digital age have caused a paradigm shift in the fitness industry. Personal trainers now need to learn to adapt their service experience to meet the demand of consumers’ ever-changing on-the-go lifestyles. The Internet provides accessibility for people to consume more information at a higher pace, and has changed the way most people spend their time and money. Personal trainers are looking for ways to capitalize on this change in consumer behavior by expanding their physical service offerings to business opportunities that can also captivate an online audience.
