An Outline to Writing In this reading, Generating Ideas: Freewriting and Brainstorming, it gives the reader ideas of how to brainstorm, to better prepare themselves for the writing that they will have to write. Learning how to properly write a paper or essay and still hold the attention of the audience is difficult. This reading goes through step by step on how to write a solid paper. This reading also helps you to feel more confident in what you are writing. Freewriting or brainstorming is the first step in writing a paper. Freewriting is just writing what ever comes to mind, this helps the writer to get all his/her thoughts out on paper without worrying about punctuation or spelling. Brainstorming is just writing down ideas on a certain topic when they come to mind, it can also give the writer a sense of the order that they would like to present their examples and evidence. It explains the points that were made in the introduction. Each paragraph should only be about one fact. The writer will also need to include transitions so that the reader will be able to follow the points. These paragraphs hold evidence of the writers topic and then goes on to give examples and to support the main idea. The body holds choosing strategies for development, description, narration, illustration, process analysis, comparison and contrast, casual analysis, definition, classification, and argumentation. Ending a writing brings all of the writers points together and gives the audience a satisfying experience, if done correctly. This is also where you want to restate your thesis statement and possibly suggest and solution for your original problem.
