The truth is that we have added so many more border patrol agents to protect our borders all around the United States and still illegal immigrants continue to get into our country. Most of them just want to come to the United States and work some just want to raise enough money to take back home to build their own home and provide a better life for their families. We can argue that some crimes are committed by illegal immigrants but the truth is that it’s not just illegal immigrants who are committing crimes and it’s only a small percentage of illegal immigrants who commit these crimes for the simple fact that by being caught will most likely get you a ticket right back into your country that you came from and if you have family out here can cause you to not see them for a very long time. Adding more agents to our borders is not working I do think that it is important to secure our borders from people trying to bring drugs and weapons into this country but trying to
Although the position against immigration has valid points with the economic issue, the issue itself only exists because of a lack of reform. It has been shown that these illegal immigrants have just as much right to pursue opporutunities that america has always prided itself on having for those with their circumstances. After all how can a country employ such a large number of people only to simultaniously condem them and try drive them after the contribution that they have
They made me take a written test on civics, asked me a couple of questions about american history and offered me a chance to choose an alternative name, and they made me take an oath. After the interview, they made me wait outside for my results and then they told me whether I passed or not. I passed so they sent me another letter in the mail with information for a ceremony. At the ceremony, they gave me my citizenship papers. Then, I called the passport agency to set an appointment to change my foreign passport to a U.S. passport.
Social Structure Theories for Immigrants CJA/314 November 28, 2011 Christopher Hammond The Circumstance of Relocating Immigrants For individuals born in the United States, many things can be taken for granted such as education, employment, financial matters, and personal freedom. For people born in different countries outside of the United States, who are considered immigrants or undocumented workers, simple freedoms and luxuries don’t exist. Many immigrants leave their native countries in an effort to escape poverty, war trauma, sexual crimes, and persecution. When the need for a better living surfaces for immigrants; the need to migrant to a different country even, illegally is the way for these immigrants to escape their hardships and struggles. Immigrant Social Structure Theories The social structure theories that best describe the circumstances immigrants encounter when leaving their native countries, is social disorganization and cultural deviance theories.
Goals and Objectives by Artis Cary The effects of the immigration population have been debated since immigrants began to enter the United States over a century ago. The positive and negative effects of their presence has become a controversial topic among political leaders, lobbyists, and citizens, resulting in the implementation of immigration policy that mirrors the opinions of these Americans. It is you, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), that enforce and in some ways implement these immigration laws. What I mean by implement is that you seem to have the upper hand when it comes to the reformation of immigration policy; that is, you have
Why do immigrants want to move? Jobs are getting really tough to find, a reason is of all the immigrants moving to the United States, that means higher poverty percentages. Immigrants are found everywhere in the U.S., this is causing chaos in all parts of our country. Cheap labor from immigrants is another factor to our economy. The cheap labor of immigrants put us at a disadvantage.
Immigrants obtain jobs that many Americans are too good to do such as lawn care, maintenance in the home or business, and farm work. Immigrants often get paid very little; they are very hard workers because they are usually very poor and come to America to make a better life for themselves and their families. The con’s of illegal immigrants is that they work off the books and do not contribute to social security or pay taxes. A majority of illegal immigrants rely on government assistance and this costs Americans a lot of money. New immigration reform laws have some good ways to gain control over illegal immigration; however, allowing more immigrants into the United States on top of the 11 million that are already here trying to obtain residency, is absurd.
Another problem was that even though there are anti-discrimination policies, a slight differential treatment towards minorities is still present. Employers expect and demand more input from minority groups and that is why people are hesitant to leave their workplace to cast a vote (Rivers, 2012). An outside source looks at voting from a different perspective. An interestingly opposing statistic is that minority groups with higher education and social status take the time to participate, as voting is very important to them. They want to take part in the choice of their government because it took so long and so much effort for them to receive the equal rights and abilities to enjoy democracy (Speel, 2010).
What we see and hear can really deceive us all. The immigrants came to America for a chance at a better life. They came to America to escape the harsh conditions of their native countries. To there surprise, immigrants got the exact opposite of what they thought America was going to be like. Politicians and entrepreneurs did what ever it took to better their lives.
