People have always tried to be hip or modish to keep a good reputation. Even people in Salem 1692 will do anything to keep a good name in the town .In Arthur Miller's play, The Crucible, three characters John Proctor, Judge Danforth, and Abigail Williams all value their reputation. These characters in The Crucible have strong feelings about how others view their overall quality or character. Unfortunately other characters in the play have to pay for there bad actions.
