Effective Communication is important with pupils because it maintains a good relationship between the Teaching and the pupil when developing these positive relationships. Children want to be in an honest and trustworthy environment. If they don’t feel that they can trust you they will find it hard to approach you and this could affect the child’s learning. Having a positive relationship will allow the child to feel more comfortable around the T/A which will inevitably create a good learning atmosphere for everyone. Consistency and Patience will help you build this relationship.
Respond positively to what is said. Effective communication involves pupils being able to understand and use the language of learning. Youn need to be able to utilise language effectively yourself in order to encourage and extend pupils learning. Developing postive working relationships with adults adults is important because it helps to maintain a positive learning environment that benefits pupils, parents and staff. Try to avoid 'jargon' or technical language unless you are sure that they too understand its meaning.
It enables you to communicate even negative or difficult messages without creating conflict or destroying trust. Children need to learn how to work and play together with each other and to develop positive relationships with their peers and with adults from other backgrounds and cultures. We should show good relationships in your interactions to be an effective role model. Without Effective communication children will not be able to pass any information proper way and that will create an obstacle for children and young people in their goal of acquiring knowledge .If we don’t have effective communication with children ,young people and adults we interact with ,that may create misunderstanding and bad feelings, distrust and can lead up to the failure of the goal for children ,young people to be at school. 1.2 Explain the principles relationship building with children ,young people and adults.
That means I should consider how I approach other people and my response for them. Parents and other adults who come to school are most likely to give beneficial support if communication is strong and effective. It is also important for pupils that models effective communication skills. This means checking what I am saying, sometimes in moment of stress or excitement, so that they can understand what my expectations are in school, effective communication and positive relationship do not happen by chance. We have to build bridge of trust.

As a teaching assistant, it is essential to establish a respectful and professional relationship with children and young people. In any relationship between a child and an adult there must be trust. In the relationship between the child or young person and the teaching assistant it is important to gain their trust and build a positive relationship, so they feel comfortable your company.
1. Understand how to communicate with children, young people and adults. a. Explain the skills needed to communicate with children and young people. Effective communication is required to form positive relationships in children and young people in different settings such as in a formal, informal or professional aspect.
When intentions are clear and transparent a bond of trust can be formed. To communicate this successfully we must first take into account to whom we are speaking to. For example if it is a child, to be effective we must speak at their level, physically and verbally. Children learn how to communicate from significant adults in their lives and the world around them. We must be the role models that they can learn from.
1.2 Relationship building is important when working with children and young people. The way this is done is by being a positive role model. The young person must feel comfortable when I am helping/supporting the young person with work. When working with children I have to make sure that when working with then that I use easy to understand words. Towards children I must show a caring approach and listen to them when they are asking me question and make eye contact so they know that I am listening to them.
For maintaining relationships: Good communication is vital for maintaining relationships. A smile, nod, or acknowledgement is a way of communication and lets the other person know you are aware of them. One needs to be able to provide a solid account of a child’s day to parents, so that a parent can feel fully up to date about their child, and confident that their child is being cared for. Good communication is also very important in maintaining relationships with colleagues because it helps to support each other in our working lives. Maintaining relationships can be sought through giving advice, through moral support, or just by a nod, or touch.
1.1 Effective communication is important in developing positive relationships with children and adults in order to gather information and pass it on effectively and accurately. It is important to establish positive communication to gain trust. Children who see adults communicating with each other and other children in a positive manner are more likely to learn positive and effective communication skills themselves. For example, it is important to check what we are saying or how we are acting and in times of stress or excitement, and display conversations, mannerisms, body language and behaviour that we expect from the children. Effective communication with parents ensures that they are confident in the school and their child’s learning, which in turn is passed on to the child.
