Develop Positive Relationship with C.Y.P and Others Involved in their Care It is important to have a positive relationship with children and young adults because if they feel comfortable and secure with the adult and their setting weather it is a childminder, a nursery or a school they will separate more easily from their parent /carer, if they feel emotionally secure they are more likely to participate in the play and learning activities. Children need to have a strong relationship with the staff to feel comfortable and secure this will help them to enjoy themselves and less likely to show unwanted behaviour. From the staffs point of view a close relationship means they learn to recognise their needs and are able to meet these needs, the staff can also recognise their expressions and emotions and are able to respond quickly and more effectively to the child, this makes the child more comfortable and confident so they then talk to the staff enabling their language to develop weather they are very young and just learning to speak or are older and learning more complex words and sentences. A strong relationship is also needed so that the staff knows the child they know where they sit on a development chart and can plan activities that the child will enjoy and be interested in and will develop from. One of the most important ways to build a relationship is communications whether it is smiling and cooing to a new born baby or having a discussion with a young adult effective communication is a must.

Resilience is about being independent, standing on your own two feet or taking back the power. It is important because it can help reverse some of the effects that bullying can have on children and young people. It is also a life skill and will be useful to a child in many areas of life, it will give them confidence not only to stand up for themselves but also to champion the rights of others, it can help to increase the child’s value in themselves and helps to promote and restore self-esteem. If children are resilient they will be able to cope better with problems, they will have better health and they will be happier and more fulfilled. Effective Communication is important with pupils because it maintains a good relationship between the Teaching and the pupil when developing these positive relationships. Children want to be in an honest and trustworthy environment. If they don’t feel that they can trust you they will find it hard to approach you and this could affect the child’s learning. Having a positive relationship will allow the child to feel more comfortable around the T/A which will inevitably create a good learning atmosphere for everyone. Consistency and Patience will help you build this relationship.
Social and Emotional Development Physical development Communication and Language Personal Social and Emotional Development (PSED) Children must be provided with experiences and support which will help them to develop a positive self of themselves and others, to have respect for others social skills and a positive disposition to learning, practitioners must ensure support for children’s emotional well being enabling them to know themselves and what they can do. For children this means being special to someone and well cared for this is vital for their physical social and emotional well being. When a child is acknowledged by the important people in there life, a child will grow in confidence, and gain inner strength through their secure attachments with them. Exploration within a close relationship will lead to growing self assurance, which will promote a sense of belonging allowing the child to explore the world from a secure base.
