I cannot believe that my marching seasons are over already. It seems like yesterday I was here at 9 o'clock in the morning for band camp my freshman year. I was so quiet and shy and only had a few friends in band, I didn't know who any of the upperclassmen were. I was excited to learn how to march but scared at the same time. It was different to make friends with people a lot older than me. I soon realized that everybody was there to have fun and everybody there was there to help. Gilroy/Christopher Alliance Marching Band, I am really going to miss all of you guys. My first two years were the experience of a lifetime. All the traditions, all the hard work, all the love we have as friends, family, and community have taught me how to be a part of a caring family like the Gilroy/Christopher Alliance where everybody has your back no matter what. I really never thought about how much hard work was done in that room and on the field. I have met some amazing people throughout my 4 years in the program. Luis Rodriguez, you came into the program barely able to read music and I remember you always asking me what that note was when you sat next to me. You were the best in the marching band, you were the guy that came in with Drum Corps experience and you helped me out tremendously. You were the person that I looked up to and who I wanted to become and I really think I'm there now. I want to thank you for everything you have helped me through, and everything you have taught me. I was an honor marching with you. Justin Jeske, oh boy where do I start? You came into band Junior year and had no idea what marching band was, but you came in learned how to march and play a drum.
