Methlyphenidate
I chose Methylphenidate as my biologically active organic compound because I have ADD and take a form of the drug. I take Concerta (Methylphenidate HCL extended release pill) 54mg the highest dosage so that I can focus better and not be so distracted by everything that happens. Without my medicine for a long period of time it really takes a toll on my daily life, nothing gets done, my grades slip and I get very anxious and overwhelmed. I’ve taken Concerta for over 11 years. I was tested and diagnosed when I was six years old. At the age 9 I started to take a dose of Ritalin 10mg in the afternoon so that I could concentrate on homework and get it done. It is used as part of a treatment program to control symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and is also used for narcolepsy.
