Reflective Journal 1 – My Experience with Persuasive Writing Melody D. Williams ENG 215 – Research and Writing Prof. Holly Sprinkle January 20, 2013 My Experiences with Persuasive Writing With persuasive writing we try to convince our audience that they should agree with our point of view based on facts, and knowledge. I use persuasive writing in several aspects of my life from business, to college, and even in my family life. In my professional life, I use persuasive writing to convince employees of the benefits of contributing to the company’s 401K plan, participating in the Education program, and enrolling in the Health Benefit program. By showing the employees in writing the benefits of each of these programs with facts to back up my suggestions, they are able to get a clear picture of how they would benefit from participating. During my education, I will use persuasive writing to create papers that will demonstrate my understanding of the subject being discussed, as well as to convince the professor that I have done research and that I am knowledgeable about the subject being discussed.
Planning your team’s work One way to check that team members understand what work required of them is to obtain feedback from them. For example, when team members are given unfamiliar work to do, I will discuss with them how they plan to complete the task, offer advice, suggest where and how to find relevant information and ask to be kept informed of their progress. Monitoring your team’s work To monitor work: hold regular team meetings to discuss targets and workload. Ask for comments and suggestions, identify problem areas, but also discuss what is working well and how this might be applied to the problem areas. With a “mature” team this approach is quite successful in that team members feel comfortable sharing their views and feel able to ask for help with their work.
You need to be able to share thoughts and ideas to help each other to increase the potential of your workplace. A good way to communicate with colleagues is to arrange daily meeting with your team so each colleague can communicate their thoughts. Giving each colleague this communication will help with build a stronger relationship. * Head teacher – Communicating with the head teacher is a very important task. The head teacher must be fully aware of all schools procedures, identities and assessing and making provisions for each pupil.
Perspective on Health Care HCS 212 February 13, 201 Perspective on Health Care When asked what interests me about the history of health care I would answer with the statement: possessing the knowledge of personal health information to make informed choices about my health and the health of those close to me. Staying informed on health topics and health challenges make me a better woman, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and one day soon a health care service worker. Having information on health care will enhance my level of communication when I enter the field, but also make me better able to interact with my doctor and other health care professionals on my health. Often my interest in health care is driven by staying current on health issues to maintain the quality of my life or to learn about conditions to help those around me. Having lost a close friend way to young, I am determined to live a healthy, full, and meaningful life.

Reflective Journal This week in clinical before the start of my shift, I discussed the goals that I wanted to achieve with my preceptor. My first goal was to have my own patient assignment with minimal help from my preceptor. Also, I needed to perform all the charting on my patient and plan the care for the day. My rationale for this week’s goals is that having my own patient will help me to learn the whole nursing process. In addition, I will learn how to work as a critical care registered nurse.
