The genetic counselors play a big role in conveying both the negative and positive aspects of raising disabled child. The way the disability is presented to prospective parents could in fact persuade them to a decision they will later come to regret. Genetic counselors need to present the positive aspects of each disability when talking to parents. The counselors also need to supply the parents with as much information as possible. The parents need to realize that a disability is not a death sentence.

Juliet reaction was that she refused to marry Paris, but her father’s reaction was very shock and sudden. He said to Juliet if she refused to the marriage, Juliet wouldn’t be recognized as the Lord Capulet’s daughter. Lord Capulet’s attitude just suddenly changed because he would rather have a great family reputation instead of his only daughter marrying her love.

EYMP 1 Task 2 3.1 As a trainee practitioner i need to show the knowledge and understanding of how partnership with parents is important to the success of each individual child in the setting. Promoting an effective bond between the parents and professionals, this provides a source of strength throughout their time in the setting. Anna’s current situation is that she is involved with an older boy. He has increased her anxiety about sex and sexual intercourse, because he is putting unrealistic demands on her about having sex. She also feels torn between wanted to make her boyfriend happy and obeying her parents’ wishes. As Anna’s mother warns her about having an older boyfriend, and that he wants to take advantage of her; Anna needs to take heed in what her mother is saying.
They feel sexual education would teach their children that they would have wait until marriage to have sex. Many of these parents do not feel comfortable with the idea of their child being subjected to spiritual welfare. (Opposing par. 3) They feel like they do not want their kids think their physical actions are connected to their spiritual actions. They want their children to be taught that their body is completely separate from their spirit.
Here, Kingshaw’s mother is trying to treat both the boys with equal respect.“I shall not make a favourite of my own child”, which is conveyed to the reader constantly as throughout the novel as her respect for her own child declines as her feelings for Mr Hooper increases . Hooper’s hatred for his own Mother peaks when he thinks to himself “He wished she were dead instead of his father” The phrase, “wish she were dead” conveys the fact that Kingshaw’s hatred for her is an extreme one, this is because he feels that he has been forgotten in place of Mr Hooper and Hooper . Also, the fact that he wants her to be replaced by his father, a person who he has never thoroughly met emphasises that he hates his mother who is suppose to be loving and caring more than anyone he has known. A point that is later made when in his mind Kingshaw exclaims, “he hated her more than Hooper now”. This exaggerates his hate for his mother even more as Hooper is Kingshaw’s worst enemy, this suggests that Kingshaw’s worst relationship is with his mother, potentially implying she is the reason for his death.
