The coil is the part of the machine that will actually make it work, by giving of a radio frequency. The scanner uses hydrogen atoms to tell the difference between different tissues. MRI scanners will use ‘spin’ which is a property in the machine which can tell the differences between tissues, such as fat, tendons, and muscle. Once the MRI scanner is turned on and the patient is in ready to be scanned the nuclei of the hydrogen atoms in the machine can spin in one of two different directions. The hydrogen atom nuclei can change the direction of spin to the opposite direction.
The time it takes the atoms to get back to its original spin allows the computer to contsruct a 3d verison of the brain. The EEG records electrical actvity in the cortex just below the skull. Recording the Eeg involves using small metal disks or sponge-like electrodes connected directly to the scalp and using a special solution to conduct electric signals from the cortxext. These signals are sent to an amplifier and then to a computer. For PET, the person is injected with a radioactive glucose.

One of the tests is a PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scan. A PET scan takes a 3D picture of the brain. The doctor injects a radioactive material into the patient’s vein. The material interacts with the blood and the PET scan takes a photograph of the area of the brain that affects body movement. In turn, the doctor can then compare these readings against those of a normal functioning brain.
STEPS OF CLONING 1. Isolation of the Donor Nucleus The nucleus of an animal cell contains the genetic material that serves as the blueprint for that animal. But although having all these uses, it’s mainly used in industrial radiography helping to detect these welds, cracks and or little holes in pressurized piping. The radiation is used to detect any faults in a surface through various ways, a popular scheme is known as the panoramic structure, this is when the radioactive isotope (cobalt – 60) is placed in the centre of a room, and then depending on the radiographer, film cassette will be placed in a specified location to check for leaks and cracks. As the cobalt – 60 emits gamma rays that are easily stopped, the cassette will only reveal a change in colour where gamma rays strike sensitive silver halide ions but the cobalt will not pass through the walls hence revealing cracks or small holes.
The plasma membrane acts as a selective barrier between the cell and its environment, and is a structure that you will study in detail throughout the year. The nucleus consists of a limiting double bilayer nuclear envelope containing nuclear pores enclosing the nucleoplasm. Small, irregular particles scattered throughout the nucleus or accumulated adjacent to the nuclear envelope are clumps of condensed chromatin known as heterochromatin. They consist of protein and DNA and stain with basic dyes. When the chromatin is dispersed and not readily stainable, it is known as euchromatin.

To obtain a PAT image, many photoacoustic images are taken at different angles by pulsing electromagnetic radiation onto a tissue which is suspend in a bath while a piezoelectric transducer detects the generated photoacoustic waves to reconstruct an image. PAT suffers from optical scattering, which lowers the spatial resolution with an increasing depth in soft tissues (3). PAT has a variety of applications in the many emerging fields of scientific research and may one day prove to be a valuable resource in a clinical setting.
