Type of School | Ownership | Management | Finance | Curriculum | Mainstream State Maintained Schools: | Mainstream state schools are split into four different types of school. | 1. Community Schools | The local authority owns the land and buildings | The governing body is responsible for running the school | The local authority funds the school and employs the staff | The school must follow the national curriculum | The admissions policy for community schools is determined and administered by the local authority.Community schools look to develop strong links with the local community. They can do this in a number of ways, including providing use of their facilities, or providing services like childcare and adult learning classes. | 2.
