Social welfare is the organisation of educational, cultural, medical and financial assistance to the needy. It is generally about helping people in demand of necessities. Governmental programs provide assistance to those in need, these include pensions, disability, unemployment insurance, family allowances, survivor benefits and national health insurance. Though Christianity has made a major contribution to Australian society in regards to social welfare.
