People come from all over the island to dive here, since the water is extremely clear allowing you to see all the different sea life. When the tide is low, small tide pools are created. My children can spend numerous hours playing in the pools. They’re either looking at all the colorful fish that are trapped or just sitting in the pools, cooling off from the hot Okinawa sun. Sometimes they get overly excited going from one pool to another and slip on the coral reef, which can put a damper on all the fun. When this happens they usually take advantage of one of the many parks located in the area. The parks allow them to play with both, American and Japanese children. All these activities will leave an impression on them that will last a lifetime. The actual seawall is what makes this area unique. The seawall is covered with graffiti drawn by people who frequent the area. There are colorful pictures of smiling suns, dolphins jumping one by one, and an occasional saying of “I was here in 97”, posted by military members soon before they leave the island. I find it astonishing how artistic people are when drawing on the seawall. There are many stories that are told from all the drawings and congee writing. However, the seawall is not just a piece of art it is also a place where people come to enjoy some
