Fifteen year old Laser was curious about their sperm donor and convinced Joni to inquire about him now that she was eighteen. Joni is coping with Erikson’s stage of identity versus role diffusion. Although this non-traditional family seems to have it all together, many struggles are shown throughout the course of the movie. The mother’s have different goals for their children, but the dominant parent seems to prevail over each child throughout the entire movie.
Compare/Contrast Why do parents make their children do things they do not want to do? This question is asked my many children around the world today. In “Kaffir Boy” by Mark Mathabane and “Two Kinds” by Amy Tan, two children are faced with pressure from their moms to be successful and receive a good education. Amy and Mark do not understand the reasoning behind their mothers’ ambitions to push them. One begins to understand that his mom is pushing him for his own good and it is what is best for him.

I am willing to give up my spare time to set a good example for my family by going to college. The only thing that annoys me the most is when you hear girls out there talking about how they could not finish high school because they were teenage mothers. A little tip is I was a teenage mother and graduated from high school. I had a son and was pregnant for my daughter while I was going to school and I graduated. I was working, taking care of my son as well as going to school.
Paraprofessionals are like aids to special needs students during the school day. I bonded with three of these four people, and I made sweet relationships with them too. The three women who I bonded with pushed me to do my best, even if it meant pushing me off the cliff just to see if I knew how to help myself. From ninth grade up until the end of my second semester of tenth grade, I had a strict paraprofessional named Ms. Leonna. She wanted the best for me; but back then, I could not see it.

Traveling across the country and competing against hundreds of other girls is a part of their lives.

If we don’t do something to stop the cycle it will become even bigger. We need to provide out children and their parents with more income so they can properly feed their family. The rich just want to keep getting richer and the poor get poorer. People need to have more empathy for others and realize the lives they live. It would be tough to have to watch your children cry because they are hungry and you can do nothing about it.
