These things include my family, my education, and my life experiences. My goals have developed further through classical and contemporary adult development theory. With these theories, my views and goals have been broadened. In this paper, I will explain how the adult development theories reflect my personal, academic, and professional goals. The narrative of my life begins with my parents and siblings. According to the textbook, “You are a product of the way you were raised”. My parents divorced and remarried to another person when I was four and five years old. I am the second oldest out of seven children and I have taken the role of caretaker very seriously. I developed a determination to not divorce my husband when I one day decided to marry. Growing up, I remember the traditions of my family gatherings.
