This could lead them to being unable to form positive and stable friendships due to disruptive behaviour, being unable to achieve academic goals or, in worse scenarios, imprisoned. Moreover if the parent or guardian is the role model exposing them to unlawful behaviour is it possible the parent may be jailed and the child may be bullied or taken into care. Poverty usually results from a low income. Lack of funds can result in poor nutrition from a bad diet, lack of adequate clothing and unsuitable housing. Separately or collectively these aspects are likely to impact negatively within the education environment as the child is: unlikely to own the latest 'must-have' accessories; unlikely to attend trips or be involved in extra-curricular activities; possible to be under stress and experience depression; likely to have low self-esteem or sense of well-being as a result of bullying or low expectations from teachers and parents.
The effects of SLCN on young people - Task 12 There is a strong correlation between EBD (emotional and behavioural difficulties) and those who have SLCN ( speech, language and communication needs). Many of the behavioural difficulties that arise from SLCN are avoidable by early detection and intervention, this is still very much lacking within social care provisions and many children and young people’s difficulties go undetected for too long. Neglect is not a once of incident, it is a constant repeat of an incident. Emotional abuse when a child’s need for affection, approval, consistency and security are not met. Emotional abuse is normally to be found in the relationship between a caregiver and a child.
It is hard raising kids and hurtful things can be said, but I just don’t think a parent should react in a hurtful manner. When this happens it just backs the kid into a corner and nothing productive can get done. Kids know how to push a parents button and parents need to realize this. Sometimes when kids push their parent’s buttons it can be a defensive mechanism or way to divert from the real problem at hand. Kids need boundaries and parents need to follow through on their punishments.
In United States, spanks by parents have caused lots of critical situations that calls for attention. Children spanking is not the best way to discipline a child as it has resulted in a situation where children are being violent. It has led to children being afraid of their parents and unable to disclose personal needs and challenges they encounter to them, which is not a connection of love between parents and children. Children spanking has also lowered their self-esteem and encourage them in doing worse things. For all these reasons, I fiercely support the topic that "Children should not be spanked in order to discipline them for a negative behavior".
