Martin Luther King is one of the most known activists around the civil rights movement. He is one of the only people in history who had changed the world in such a short time; Martin Luther King is the global citizen of the century and deserves to be named so. In 1964 King was the youngest person to receive the Nobel Peace Prize and still is today. He dedicated his life to the fight for civil rights. King’s first leadership role in the civil rights movement was as an executive in the National Association for the Advancement of colored people where he lead and organized the year long Montgomery Bus Boycott.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt is considered not only one of the most inspirational presidents that ever ran in office, but one of the most inspirational individuals that ever existed. He prospered by leading America through a tough time during the Great Depression as well as one of the greatest wars in history known to man. (fdrlibrary.marist.edu) He created many programs that lessened the hardships that so many Americans faced during this time. Indeed, Franklin Delano Roosevelt in my opinion, as well as many Americans during those times and even now, was one of the most inspiring individuals that we as Americans have known.

On February 12, 2000, Schulz died of cancer, leaving an amazing legacy. With scant formal education, from a poor family, this frontier lawyer held the nation together through the worst crisis in its history. A leader of weaker will or fainter vision might well have failed either to win the Civil War or end the institution of slavery. His main goals were the German reunification and together with the French President Francois Mitterrand, the Maastricht Treaty, which created the European Union.
