E1 +E2: Private Provision: The term private consists of schools that are not funded by the government but are ran by themselves and invested in them. In businesses like this they could tend to make a lot of profit. The private nurseries or schools have their own managers that fund for the childcare setting. Some examples of private provision are crèche’s. crèche’s are provided everywhere in workplaces, nurseries and day care centres for parents that both work. To be able to work as a practitioner there are some skills that you will need to have such like being able to work as an effective team member who will be able to effectively communicate with the rest of the team members and other professionals. This is important because it will allow everyone to cooperate with each other coming up with ideas relating to what plans should be made for the child that needs specific needs. Being part of a team will allow the practitioner to get their thoughts across to other organisations that will be working with them about what they think is best for the child and closely work on it. If the practitioner won’t be playing a part as being an effective team member then it will result in poor practitioner and also some of the child’s needs might not be met. The second skill is being able to do observations on the child as to what their needs are, how they are being met and if some of the needs are not being addressed properly then why. Making observations on the child for the practitioner would be a good skill that they would need as they will be able to closely measure the child’s progress, if their needs are being addressed properly and if any problems are outlined. This Is because parents and carers views are all based on what would be best for the child as they know their child better and understand them to so whatever decision they would take would be right for the child. For the parent/carer to do this they must have some sort of trust built in the teacher so that without hesitation they could take any problems or issues that they may have relating with the child to the teacher. For example if a child has not been sleeping properly due to family problems at home and feels sleepy at times the parent would need to tell the teacher about this so that they are aware about the situation and could keep an eye on the child. This information would have to be kept confidential as it has only been discussed between the teacher and parent, if the teacher keeps this to herself then the parent would have gained trust in the teacher would be able to talk to them about anything however If the teacher decides to tell another member of staff about this and that member of staff approaches the parent and talks to them about it the parent would feel upset at the teacher as to why they didn’t keep it confidential when the parent clearly said they wanted it to be, this would make the parent to not be able to trust the teacher again and is part of a poor practitioner.
