It is important for staff to know there may be linguistic barriers when communicating with patients and family members. The researcher must know there are many variables that have a strong influence on a research study; it is up to the study group and researcher not to allow any variable to alter the data. The staff must believe in the study and the class to help make the necessary changes to improve
Interpretation of the ECG reading is the responsibility of the Doctors not the nursing/ care support staff. Doctors who are unsure of how to interpret the ECG reading must seek advice from another Doctor who is competent before administrating any treatment. Doctors/Consultants wishing to change a patient’s medications prescribed by another consultant following an ECG should seek advice from the named consultant first.
If they are capable they will be able to tell you how they would prefer to be treated, and what their personal needs are. If they are unable to communicate with you, you could talk to their family, they could provide information about the history and preferences of the client. Another way that would also be useful is to talk to social workers, doctors or any other professional involved in the clients care, as they will be able to give you information on any medical conditions and needs etc that you need to be aware of. 2. Describe two ways of making sure that the history, preferences, wishes and needs of an individual using the service are recognised in support or care plans.
The results that are achieved are depending on the design elements that will support the success with rooms designed and dedicated to the patient and his or her family. Clinics are now designing patient environments to accommodate the critically ill or disabled patients; this student will attempt to incorporate specialized design into the clinic if the floor plan allows (Pub med, 2006). Health care services are challenging because of the nature of the patient flow. At each stage of the process the patient will experience waiting time; this is a problematic area of the health care operations. This must be managed carefully in both the waiting times and also the patient’s perception of waiting, this student will provide optimal solutions to this in facility planning part two (Healthcare Services Operations,
Care-plans are very specific to the individual and you need as much information about them to be able to assess the needs of the person involved. Find out what they are they able to do for themselves and what can we do to support them and aide independence. What sort of support do they have from family and friends, what hobbies do they have and what are their likes and dislikes. They may need your support because of ill health so you need to know all about their medical history and what medication they are on. How their sight, hearing and speech is, are they able to communicate?
Teachers may give generic, informal feedback while the work is being completed but may not indicate what candidates need to do to improve their work. Candidates should not be given the opportunity to redraft their work, as this is likely to require an input of specific advice. Candidates should be made aware of the time allowed for carrying out this part of the task. Candidates' access to resources is determined by those available to the centre and/or to candidates at home. The research information should be brought into the classroom.
These may be misunderstandings to do with ineffective communication or it may have to do with differences in cross-cultural communication. If you sense a conflict brewing, do not allow it to fester, resolve it early. Be direct and courteous. Develop a plan of action to address the problem with your co-worker and then work together toward resolving it. Healthcare settings need to develop a clear written workplace policy stating that harassment and discrimination are not tolerated and establish a process for hearing complaints while maintaining confidentially by appointing an appropriate ‘Contact Officer’ to deal with complaints.
Academic Integrity means being honest about your work. As a student and an individual it is important that we take the time to properly learn the material. Creative and critical thinking come into play here as we process what we have learned and put it into our own prospective. Imagine a medical student that plagiarizes or takes credit for someone else’s work or research, would you want them as your doctor? Certainly you would not, you would question whether or not they really knew what they were doing.
Doctors should also avoid taking on too many shifts that hinder them from concentrating on their work. It is the work of management to observe patients who have problems with substance abuse to ensure they do not prescribe any medication to patients. This will help hospitals avoid legal problems with their
In order for contamination to stop, people need to be aware of hand hygiene and infection control. Although healthcare workers will have a varied amount of knowledge on this topic, the patients and patient’s families will not. There are already notices up in hospitals regarding infection control however; the public should not have to learn about hand hygiene when in hospital. There should be notices up in schools, universities and in shopping centres. All of these places will be seen by the public and will hopefully have an impact on people’s hand hygiene.
